PICTURES ONLY:
Why we don’t weigh participants and take body fat measurements, along with other vitals?
There are several reasons.  Some people don’t actually lose that much weight but the change to their body is significant.  People want to look good naked and pictures don’t lie.  How the participant looks is what matters and determines the winner. Body fat measurements can be very inconsistent. The health benefits everyone receives from eating better is a given and will be numerous.  No amount of tests can sum up these benefits and changes.
Your  before and after pictures will not be posted online or distributed electronically. All the voting on people’s Before and After pictures happen by viewing the photos on paper with the head cropped.  Every participant’s Before and After pictures will be sent to their email address.
FOOD LOGS:
Your food log is maintained daily. You can email or text it to the website: http://paleochallenge.wordpress.com . Everyone’s feed will be together on the main page but every participant will have their own page with a complete list of their meals.
The Challenge Blog has several great benefits.  Creativity: Everyone participating in the Challenge can see what others are eating and get great ideas from it.  Almost everyone gets stuck in a rut and seeing what someone else is eating for breakfast can often help them break out.  Accountability: Everything being listed publicly on the Challenge Blog should not be underestimated.  For some people the Challenge blog will be more of a motivating factor than the pictures.  Yes, some people will not write/picture everything or be totally honest.  That’s okay.  The after pictures don’t lie.
The food log requirement is very simple.  If you want to be really exact in describing what you ate, Great. Or you could be fairly general. Also you can take a picture of your phone with a brief description.  Everything you eat or drink has to be documented.  Any falling off the wagon will be accompanied by a trainer helping you get back on the wagon. No wallowing in mistakes. Although you may end up wallowing in burpees. ;-)
Several people have told us they wanted to go Paleo but they couldn’t give up this or that.   We don’t care.  Even if you make just one change, such as cutting out high-fructose corn syrup, that is a step in the right direction. But come on! It’s 7 weeks. You can give up anything for 7 weeks. And like everything else in life the more you give the more you get.
Often, once people start tracking what they eat, it’s only then that they can see for themselves the changes they need to make.
Your trainer will have a one hour discussion the Saturday before the kickoff. We will also take the ‘Before’ pictures of most people participating in the Challenge at the lecture.  During this lecture the ‘Why’ and the ‘What’ of eating Paleo will be discussed.
MISCELLANEOUS DETAILS:
The top 10 winners will be announced when everyone meets to vote.
Making food changes is really dramatic and emotional for a lot of people. Changing something like eating habits often takes several tries.  So try, try and then try again even if you only see the wagon pass by, get run over by the wagon, get kicked off the wagon, jump for the wagon and completely miss, just keep getting back on the wagon.
